How much does it cost to attend a class?

Prices can vary slightly by venue and event so please check your chosen class for the latest ticket price.Here’s what’s included in the price:All art supplies are provided
Everything from paintbrushes to aprons, please just bring yourself!
Guidance from a professional artist
Each session includes hands-on instruction in various techniques such as drawing, painting, and mixed media, all guided by experienced instructors passionate about nurturing creativity.
A work of art to take home
Whatever masterpiece you create can be taken home that day.
Food and drink are sometimes included 
Depending on the class, food and drink may be served. Please check details of your class when booking. Some of the events will be in hospitality venues where you will be able to purchase refreshments directly from the venue.

I've never painted before; can I attend?

Absolutely! At Art Waves, our art classes are designed to welcome individuals of all skill levels, including complete beginners. We are an inclusive art space. 
Our expert artist will provide step-by-step guidance in a supportive and encouraging environment. We focus on helping you build confidence and discover your creativity at your own pace, making sure you enjoy every moment of your artistic journey. What should I wear?

At Art Waves, we recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy, as art materials like paint, charcoal, and clay can sometimes stain. 
 
You will be provided with an apron for your class, but there is always a risk that you may get a few paint splats on your clothes.

We sometimes use acrylic paint which is water soluble, but it isn't great if you get it on your clothes. If the paint is still wet and it is a small splat, you can wash it off with water and a cloth. If the paint has dried, you can remove the paint using nail polish remover or hairspray and a hair dryer. This should loosen the paint from the fabric and it can be brushed off.

Where do you run your art classes?

Art Waves currently conducts art classes in various locations across South Essex.

In addition, we offer bespoke mobile event hosting. We are fully equipped to deliver tailored art experiences directly to your preferred venue, including local corporate offices for team-building initiatives, as well as hospitality venues such as restaurants and bars.

When should I arrive?

We kindly ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes before the start time, as we may still be busy setting up!

What if I have an allergy or dietary requirement?

It is important you let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements if you are booking a class where refreshments will be served. We ask that you also refer to the class description of your chosen class to ensure you are safe to use all art materials.

What happens if my class is cancelled?

We always do our best to run every class, but sometimes we have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, don't worry! We will gladly help you transfer to another course or issue you a full refund.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations more than 10 days before: If you need to cancel your booking, you may do so up to 10 days prior to the start of the workshop. You will receive a refund minus the ticket service fee (this is non-refundable processing fee charged by Wix). Please email your request at hello@art-waves.co.ukCancellations less than 10 days before: We are unable to offer refunds or transfers for customer cancellations made less than 10 days prior to the workshop. The only exception is if we have a waitlist and can successfully fill your space. If you cannot attend, please contact us as soon as possible at hello@art-waves.co.uk

Question 11

My child is attending a class, do I need to stay with them?

We offer a range of children's classes, including our 'Little Splashers' sessions for ages 3-5. For these sessions, we ask a grown-up to stay to assist their child, alongside our supportive instructors. For classes aged 6 and above, drop-off is preferred. Our instructors are fully DBS checked.

Children with SEN or EHCP are always welcome at Art Waves. Should your child require support, this must be disclosed when making a booking to ensure your child enjoys their art experience and is catered for.

What are the age ranges for the Children's classes?

We offer three types of classes:
Little Splashers (3-5 year olds)
An interactive space for children to experiment and explore! Activities are often highly tactile, meaning children often get messy during creation. Parents/grown-ups are required to stay.
Wave Makers (6-10 year olds)
Kids this age love learning new skills and showing off their creations. We help them to build confidence in different art mediums, from using watercolours to printmaking. This is a drop-off session.
Teen Collective (11+ year olds)
The primary focus is providing older kids with a dedicated space and a chance to experiment. It may build upon techniques they have already learnt, but also an opportunity to just have fun! This is a drop-off session.
